THE STORY

A Legacy Woven
Into Every Stitch

Albert Lam emigrated from Hong Kong to New York City's Chinatown in the late 1970s. He apprenticed with an Italian master tailor, learning the craft while working at a local garment factory to support his family.

In 1978, Albert and his wife opened their tailor shop on Lafayette Street. For over 40 years, they worked seven days a week, building a business through word of mouth — serving the community during the most memorable moments in the circle of life.

Their dedication attracted notable clients including former Mayor David Dinkins, who became a customer and friend for over 35 years, and comedian Ronny Chieng, who calls Albert his favorite tailor in New York City.

Precise measurements are taken — over 30 individual measurements that capture the unique geometry of your body. No two suits are ever cut the same way.

Pattern & Cutting

A unique pattern is drafted for you alone. The fabric is hand-cut with tailor's shears — a skill that takes decades to master.

Fittings

You'll come in for fittings as the garment takes shape. Each fitting refines the cut until the suit moves with you, not against you.

Hand Finishing

Buttonholes are worked by hand. The canvas is shaped to your chest. Every detail is attended to with the patience that only a master craftsman can offer.
